Specification of number and location of joints (Input Table)
Table description:
Through the input data table PIPES the number and the location of (construction) joints is specified.
The plan of the table is such that it is easy to model an articulated pipeline composed of a great number of pipes of equal lengths connected by joints of equal type, for instance socket-spigot connections. Moreover a single joint like an eye hinge can easily be specified.
A defined bend in table POLYDIF can be replaced by an articulated pipeline. The first joint should be located before or at the tangent point, the last joint at or after the tangent point.
The type of joint and the corresponding characteristics are input in table JOINTS and/or JNTSPRS in Design Function 3.3. Different types of joint may exist simultaneously in a pipeline, however not at the same location.
This function requires module J.
